Brief info
Lake Sentani is a famous primitive arts centre. Bark paintings, sago bowls and small-carved items are amongst the local handicrafts found here. Our guides are also a private collector of primitive Papuan art and therefore we have the depth of knowledge and connections to ensure that you pay the right price and that all items purchased are genuine.
The port city of Jayapura sits on the coast and has a population of around 250,000 including many people from other parts of the Indonesian archipelago. It is not an unattractive city and you will find museums, hotels, an assortment of restaurants, banks and markets for shopping. From Jayapura it is easy to take guided overnight treks to primitive villages.
The best way to see the Lake and adjacent areas is by motorised canoe. This transportation allows you uninterrupted perspectives of the area access to visit the small fishing village built on stilts over the lake. Fishermen have been plying their traditional trade here for many generations.

ITINERARY
DAY 01 : JAYAPURA ARRIVAL
- Morning arrival at the airport
- Meeting service then transfer to Horex hotel.
- After check in visiting Asei & Ayapo village
- The trip continue to Papua Anthropology Museum
- Next, you will heading to Hamadi market and beach to see the remain of the World War II, crocodile farm. Lunch serve at local restaurant.
- After lunch continue to visit traditional house of Jayapura and see the life and culture of local people. Afternoon back to your hotel. (L, D)

DAY 02 : JAYAPURA – SENTANI LAKE – DEPARTURE
- After breakfast, pick you up at hotel then drive 30 minutes to South part of Jayapura to see the anthropology museum at Waena
- Abepura and Sentani lake.
- Lunch will have at Yougwa restaurant.
- After lunch drive up to Ifar Gunung to see and enjoy the monument of Gen. Douglas Mc. Arthur and panoramic to Sentani area and Cyclops mountain. Around 2.p.m, escort to airport for your afternoon flight to next destinations. (B, L) ends!
