JAYAPURA, SUARAPAPUA.com— Jeffrey Bomanak, Chairman of the OPM congratulates the elected President of the Bougainville Autonomous Region, Papua New Guinea.
Jeffrey said that there’s a lot of contribution of the Papuan people for the Bougainville Referendum and the election of Ishmael Toroama.
The Free Papua Movement (OPM) and the Bougainville Revolution Army (BRA) have a joint commitment in an agreement called ‘Sun i Kamap to Sun i go Daun.
Agreement ‘(from Sunrise to Sunset) for the people of Bougainville and the people of West Papua was signed by Jeffrey Bomanak and Ishmael Toroama.
“In it the OPM has actively supported the Bougainville Referendum until Ishmael’s election as president,” Jeffrey told suarapapua.com via an electronic message from PNG, Wednesday (23/9/2020).
He said the election of Toroama would bring big changes to the Papuan people’s struggle. The election of Toroama is a victory for the Papuan struggle.
“The election of Toroama is a prayer and hard work of the Papuan people. We were officially invited by Toroama and will join for the celebration on behalf of the Papuan people, “said Jeffrey.
Previously, BRA invited OPM to attend and participate in the referendum process which was held from November to December 2019.
On that occasion, OPM and BRA signed the Sun i Kamap to Sun i go Daun agreement, which is committed to jointly fighting for the Papuan people and the Bougainville people to be independent and sovereign just like any other country.
That was said Sebby Sambom, the TPNPB-OPM spokesman is a commitment to be carried out with full responsibility, discipline, and confidence that one day the two nations from the rising sun of Bougainville and the sunset of West Papua will gain independence, according to the ancestral ideals of the people of Bougainville and West Papua.
At the time of the signing, Ishmael Toroama stated that there was no reason for West Papua to continue to be colonized by Indonesia and the struggle of the Papuan people would become a priority for the people of Bougainville when their dreams were fulfilled in this referendum process.
